My 2 cents for new useful features in application manager
* Install more application at the same time
* Save packages installed in backup/restore
* Save repository in backup/restore and upgrade version ( if possible )

As far as i know, at least points 2 and 3 are allready supported in OS2008, but i have not tested it yet.
